Michigan Voter registration online

Michigan law requires that you change the address on your driver's license or state identification (ID) card when you move. The address must match the address on your voter registration card. If you fail to change your address, your driver's license may be suspended. There is no fee to change your address. You may change your address online, by mail or in person at a Secretary of State branch office. Any of these options allows you to update your voter registration to your new address.

Online:
A change of address may be submitted through . When changing your address online, a letter containing the new address will be mailed to your old address to verify that you did submit a change of address. If you do not want the individuals at the old address to have your new address, change your address in person at a Secretary of State office.

While the option to register to vote is not available online, a voter registration form is available to print and mail or hand deliver to your local city or township clerk.

By Mail:

Click the link at the bottom of this page for the form to change your address. When completed, mail it to the address listed on the form. Forms cannot be accepted by e-mail.

If you are changing your address at a branch office, be sure to bring your driver's license or personal ID card. You will be given a sticker with your new address for the back of your driver's license or personal ID card.
