Where to pick up Voter Registration Forms?
WY Voter Eligibility
Before you head out to register, make sure you're eligible to vote. You must:
- Be a citizen of the United States.
- Be a resident of Wyoming.
- Be 18 years old by the date of the election to wish to vote in.
- Not be a convicted felon or have had your civil rights revoked at any time.
NOTE: If you take up residence in another Wyoming county you will need to re-register in that county. If you change your name or move to another precinct within the same county, you must contact the county clerk to make the update prior to the next election.
In Wyoming, you may register to vote:
- In person.
- By mail.
- At the polls on election day.
NOTE: Wyoming is exempt from the "Motor Voter" law; therefore, you cannot register to vote at a local Wyoming DMV office.
In Person
To register in person, visit your local town or county clerk and pick up a voter registration form. You may also fill out the Wyoming Voter Registration Application & Change Form before you visit the office, to save you time when you get there. Note, however, that the form must be signed in front of your county clerk.
By Mail
To complete your voter registration by mail, you must fill out the Wyoming Voter Registration Application & Change Form in front of a notary or registry agent. You'll need to provide proof of your identification, which can include:
- Your WY driver's license.
- Valid U.S. passport.
- School or military ID.
Once you have filled out the registration form in front of the notary or registry agent:
- Sign the voter registration oath.
- Have the representative sign your form.
- Allow the representative to make copies of your proof of ID.
At the Polls
If you haven't registered prior to election day, you can still register at the polls when you go to vote. Make sure to bring acceptable proof of identification that displays your full name and residence, such as your Wyoming driver's license.
Out-of-State Voter Registration
Military personnel stationed outside of WY and any U.S. citizens living overseas can register to vote online using the Federal Post Card Application (FPCA).
